Sky Scarf Kit

in 2012 I’ll be taking on Leafcutter Designs’ Conceptual Knitting Project Sky Scarf. It’s where you knit two rows of a scarf every day based on the color of the sky for that day.

I’ll be adding a twist to my scarf, using worsted weight (which is going to make it a huge long scarf) and using Diane’s Diagonal scarf (I’m going to add a dozen stitches or so to the width).

I’ll post some in progress pictures as soon as it’s in progress… for today, I’m off to Michael’s to pick up the right color blues. I had the white and grey in my stash :)

Here are the top 10 DIY project tutorials by Ucreate. I did the watermark tee this summer and it worked out amazingly, I will be making more of these in the future! Image borrowed from Sweet Verbena and Ucreate.

I’ve been using this program/blog A LOT for making socks. My Grandparents each got hand knit socks from me and I used this calculator to fit them exactly to their feet. Thank you very much to whoever is behind this marvelous online tool!

Winter Holiday 2011

December 30th, 2011 | Posted by admin in A day in the life... - (0 Comments)

This winter holiday has been busy but wonderful. The first five days of my holiday I planned and anticipated Christmas Day and what  I needed to get done before then. I worried about my class pets at school but knew they were well taken care of. I wrote lists, wrapped gifts, shopped, got my hair done and procrastinated. It really feels like the time has flown by, and of course, I got sick over the holidays. We spent Christmas Eve and the first half of Christmas day with my inlaws. My niece is three, sick and so excited about Christmas that she couldn’t contain her cold germs. Luckily she’s the cutest. Christmas day we went to the local ski hill where my parents rented a condo for 5 nights. My brother and his girlfriend joined us there and we really had a relaxing time. Unfortunately, M and I were really feeling under the weather that we didn’t get out skiing. We did manage to go skating at the outdoor rink and walk around the village which was very enjoyable. Here are a few pictures of the holiday so far; Oh! my Christmas gift was a Canon 60D and I’m stoked to take loads of pictures, the following are taken on the camera and I hope to learn more about it soon so I can start taking amazing pictures!
